Stanton Developments submitted a planning application to South Derbyshire District Council in April 2016. The scheme proposes the conversion of the former public house into two dwellings and the construction of five new homes within a fully landscaped site. The proposal is currently being determined by the Council with an anticipated decision date in early autumn.
The development, designed by Montague Architects, brings to market a mix of 4, 5 and 6 bedroom homes ranging in size from 1,850 to 2,650 sq ft Each property is individually designed to reflect the local vernacular and respond to the semi-rural surrounds. The site enjoys an enviable edge of village location whilst overlooking the open countryside, allowing for both traditional country living coupled with an engaging community experience suiting contemporary life.
Melbourne itself is a highly desirable small and attractive market town located 8 miles south of Derby. It benefits from an extensive range of amenities and facilities with highly acclaimed pubs and restaurants. In March 2013 Melbourne was ranked as the 15th best town in Britain to live in by The Times newspaper.
